My title strangeness continues. Last night I discovered what I have been missing by censoring The Cat Piano from my screen, based solely on title. Not that I gave it much thought. I see references to online video, cats, and pianos, and I imagine more of the Fwd: You’ve Got To See This home videos that are a little less amazing with each instance.

On Booooooom! today, Kim Cogan’s paintings are feeling romantic to me, but I will admit my taste for romance may not be conventional.
“Fabrics are the protagonists in the dazzlingly refined visual crescendo that is Forever.” Forever is the amount of time I have not known about Tord Boontje. Time I will never get back. This is one of those websites that feels like real time and space instead of the grifting most of the internet is. Magical creations photographed magically, presented through a magic interface (mui?). Under a magic moniker (already re-named my dogs Tord and Boontje).
At times jocular (“the myth of cat intelligence”), at times philosophical (“dead time”, “concentration”), the list is always thoughtful and well-written. I am surprised I have not seen more of this observation.

Contemplating this on a screen, at least, pleasure arrives from two directions: the hideaway appeal of the nook and cranny, and the simple aesthetic cheer of multicolor!

I enjoyed this comparison of the aesthetics of bike stands around the globe. Montreal is experiencing the predictable Bixi backlash (“they take up so much room”, “eyesore”, etc.), and the images in this piece lend some perspective, I thought.
